In the ever-changing appliance industry, manufacturers are known to discontinue parts without warning. In this event, customers have the choice to either pay for a high-price rebuild (a process which can take up to 6 weeks) or purchase a new unit.
Neither option ends up being very cost effective. Alex was out on such a call, where the main control board had burnt out in a customer’s Whirlpool dryer. The part was discontinued. Not being quick to give the customer the bad news, rather, Alex rolled up his sleeves and attempted to re-solder the board. And he was successful! We were able to fix the board and get this customer’s dryer back up and running within only an hour, saving the customer hundreds. Here at Appliance Company, we are in the business of bringing dead appliances back to life!
